About Us
Dermal Training Institute (DTI) was established to advance the standard of beauty, wellness, and aesthetics education in Kenya through science-led training, practical excellence, and industry relevance.
Founded by a Beauty and Aesthetics professional with over 15 years of industry experience, DTI was created in response to the rapid evolution of the beauty industry and the growing need for professionals who possess both practical skills and a strong understanding of skin science, treatment technologies, and professional practice. Through years of operating a successful Beauty Clinic and Spa, working with international brands, undertaking advanced global training, and attending leading industry conferences, the founder identified an opportunity to create a training institution that better prepares learners for success in the modern beauty and aesthetics sector.
A key strength of DTI is the integration of education with active clinical practice. Students benefit from training that is informed by real-world client experiences, current industry trends, and practical treatment delivery, ensuring graduates are industry-ready from the outset.
DTI received accreditation from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) in July 2025 and achieved approval as an ITEC Accredited Centre in January 2026, enabling the delivery of internationally recognised qualifications. Since its establishment, the institute has grown from its first foundation programmes to offering comprehensive training through seven interconnected pathways: Aesthetics, Beauty Therapy, Nail Technology, Waxing and Hair Removal, Body and Wellness Therapy, Advanced Beauty Artistry, and Professional Practice and Business Development in Beauty and Aesthetics, preparing learners for successful careers across the beauty, wellness, and aesthetics sectors.
The institute’s commitment to quality education is further strengthened through partnerships with internationally recognised brands including Dermalogica, Tuel Skincare (USA), Stayve(Korea), and Elemis. These collaborations expose students to global treatment standards, professional product systems, and emerging industry innovations. Students also benefit from professional starter kits from the brands, providing valuable hands-on experience and a smoother transition into employment or entrepreneurship.

My journey in the beauty industry spans over 15 years and has been driven by a passion for excellence, continuous learning, and professional development.
A defining moment in my career came when I attended an Educate the Educator programme with Nimue Skin Technology in South Africa. I was inspired by the depth of scientific knowledge, professionalism, and expertise demonstrated by the lead educator, and I knew then that one day I wanted to make a similar impact through education.
That experience led me to pursue advanced training, work with internationally recognised brands, attend global industry conferences, and become one of the first Nimue Skin Technology Educators in Kenya. Alongside operating a successful beauty clinic, I began training and mentoring beauty professionals, spas, and aspiring practitioners.
Over time, I recognised the need for education that combines practical skills, scientific understanding, and real-world industry experience. What began as individual training and mentorship grew into a bigger vision—Dermal Training Institute.
Today, DTI exists to raise the standard of beauty, wellness, and aesthetics education through science-led learning, practical excellence, industry partnerships, and exposure to global best practices. Our goal is not simply to train students to perform treatments, but to develop confident, knowledgeable, and industry-ready professionals capable of building successful and meaningful careers.
My vision is for DTI to become a leading centre of excellence in beauty, wellness, and aesthetics education in Africa, recognised for innovation, academic quality, and its contribution to advancing professional standards across the industry.
